Gloucestershire Heritage Hub is closed until further notice. This includes Gloucestershire Archives, Gloucestershire Family History Society, and Gloucestershire Registration copy certificates service.

Every effort will be made to continue offering essential services such as access to records for legal reasons.  We look forward to welcoming back our customers, volunteers, partners and friends in due course.

Project activities

Gloucestershire Archives offers specialist advice to groups in Gloucestershire and South Gloucestershire to help community projects develop formal and informal learning activities

A heritage project is a great way to involve your community in fun activities and inspire learning. It's also an opportunity for volunteers to develop new skills as well as to share their experience and knowledge.

There are plenty of examples online of exciting and successful local heritage projects. The Community Archives and Heritage Group website (see the links to the right) offers lots of ideas from projects across the country.

You can find further links on the right to the websites created as a result of three of our successful partnership projects.  These are projects connected with Gloucester's Rugby heritage, celebrating the distinct communities of Barton and Tredworth in Gloucester, and exploring the industrial and social history of the Fielding & Platt engineering firm.

Our staff will be pleased to hear from you and to discuss ideas for your project. We can also share our extensive experience of working with volunteers. Please Contact us for more details.
