Coronavirus update

Gloucestershire County Council are closing Gloucestershire Archives @ the Heritage Hub from Monday 23 March until further notice, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Gloucestershire Family History Society @ the Heritage Hub has also closed their service until further notice.

Gloucestershire Registration copy certificates service is also suspended.

Every effort will be made to continue offering essential services such as access to records for legal reasons.

Look out for updates from the archives on social media and online.  If you have a few minutes you might like to #ExploreYourArchiveAtHome.  You can search our collections online or browse or contribute to our online mapping resource Know Your Place

We look forward to welcoming back our customers, volunteers, partners and friends in due course.

Phase 1 of Hub open for business

Phase one of the Heritage Hub is now open.

Visitors can now consult documents in the brand new archive research room, and benefit from expert advice from volunteers of the Gloucestershire Family History Society. Our project space is also being tested out by community groups.

We remain a building site whilst our new strongrooms, new entrance and training suite are completed. During this period we welcome pre-booked volunteers and community groups on Mondays and Fridays and the general public on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. We only have parking for blue badge holders until phase two is completed in September 2018. Please contact us before you visit.

If you'd like a preview of the new space, have a look at the architects' 3D representation. Click on the area you'd like to investigate and then look around by using the arrow keys. For best results we recommend using the Chrome browser.
