County archivist, Heather Forbes (centre), with Beard’s Operation Director, Jamie Harwood, and site team (red hats), quantity surveyor, council property colleagues and architect (yellow/white hats), outside the new strongrooms.

Gloucestershire County Council has signed a new contract with Beard Construction who took over from where our previous contractors, Lakehouse, left off.  Good progress is being made and the building work is due to be completed in August 2019.

Three miles of shelving has now been added to the new strongrooms, the front entrance is being completed and the tarmacking to complete the parking is scheduled for the week beginning 22 July.  Anyone visiting us should follow the signs to the temporary entrance for the next few weeks.  Please also check in advance if blue badge parking is required or you wish to deposit new collections of archives and we will make appropriate arrangements for you.
