The event will run from 13:00 - 15:00, featuring a talk at 13:30, for which booking is essential.

What will the event feature?

  • Document display of records relating to love and romance within collections at Gloucestershire Archives
  • Live talk at 13:30 delivered by Angela Dunsby
  • Free refreshments throughout the afternoon.
  • How did your relatives meet? What age did they marry? Were there any family scandals? Check out your family history at the Gloucestershire Family History Resource Centre, open from 10am.

Talk of the day

The talk of the day, "Whores, Toffers and Three-Penny Uprights", will be led by Angela Dunsby and look into historical records of some of the more unspoken facets of romantic history.

Please note that the talk will feature archaic terminology considered outdated today and discuss themes of a sensitive nature.
